Upcoming events include:

Bowlander Competition, County Cub and Scout Camps, Penwortham Gala,  and much more, watch this space!

Beaver Bronze Award  Congratulations to our Beavers who received their Bronze Award recently.  I know you have all worked very hard to meet the requirements and have had fun doing it!

Cub Silver Challenge Award   Well done to three of our group who received their Cub Silver Challenge.  This is the highest award a Cub can receive and takes a lot of effort to achieve.  There has been a picture of this uploaded below.

Beavers District Sleepover   Our beaver coloney attended district sleepover at Bibby's Farm in January.  They took part in a heap of activities inkeeping with the cowboys and indians theme including archery, crafts, wide games and a camp fire which was a welcome relief from the cold.

Waves  The Scouts went to Waves leisure centre at the beginning of February and had a troop night in the pool.  One Scout was even invested whilst the waves were in full motion but we could just about hear his promise.

AGM.  We held our annual general meeting on Thursday 28th January and it was a resounding success.  There was a fantastic sketch put on by the cubs and the scouts did their own section report.  Three of the younger Scouts also received their silver challenge award from their time in Cubs and this is the highest award a cub scout can achieve so a huge congratulations to them.  Thanks to all who came and I would like to personally thank all the leaders who volunteer their time and energy to keep 7th Penwortham Scout Group going, well done guys a great year, lets make 2010 even better!

Christmas Party  We had a fabulous Christmas Party just before the holidays where we all ran around too much, ate too much party food and got over excited about father christmas... and that was just the leaders!  Merry Christmas all and have a wonderful new year.  See you all in 2010.

Activity Evening at Waddecar As a group we visited Waddecar Scout Camp just before breaking up for the summer.  Even though it was pouring down with rain we managed to do Archery, Backwoods Cooking and a Tour of Waddecar.  This was enjoyed by Cubs and Scouts and is likely to be repeated in the not too distant future.

District Camp  This was held at Waddecar Scout Camp on 19th, 20th and 21st of June.  We incorporated a family camp into this which was enjoyed by all.  Beavers came for a visit on the Saturday and got to enjoy many of the activities which the Cubs and Scouts were doing.  These included climbing, archery, canoeing, caving, zap zone a camp fire and many more activities.  Pictures to follow soon.
